Relevance: 0/10

Summary

Alderman Matthew J. O’Shea (19th Ward) provided a storm damage update, noting more than 100 reports of downed trees and asking residents to contact 311 for fallen branches or sidewalk/road damage while Streets & Sanitation/Bureau of Forestry clears blocked areas. He also reported that over 6,000 homes and businesses in Beverly, Morgan Park, and Mount Greenwood are without power and directed residents to report outages to ComEd. Other than the storm-response updates, the newsletter includes no zoning, housing, transit, budget, or street-safety items.

Email from 19th Ward Office

Dear Chicago,

Today's storm resulted in more than 100 reports of downed trees and limbs throughout the 19th Ward. I will continue to work with the Department of Streets and Sanitation (Bureau of Forestry) to address blocked streets and sidewalks. We ask that you contact 311 to report a fallen tree/branch or damage from the storm. We appreciate your patience and cooperation while clean up occurs after this powerful storm.

In addition, more than 6,000 homes and businesses throughout Beverly, Morgan Park and Mount Greenwood are without power. ComEd crews are assigned and will be working round the clock to restore service. If your service has been disrupted, please report the outage to ComEd immediately using one of the following options...

  • Online
  • Via the ComEd Mobile App
  • Via text message by texting "ADD OUTAGE" to 26633
  • Via phone, by calling 1-800-334-7661

I will continue to update residents as I receive more information. Please email me at mattoshea@the19thward.com if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Matthew J. O'Shea

Alderman, 19th Ward
