February 26th Update

Dear Friend,

Cook County Property Tax bills are available to view and pay online by clicking HERE. The first installment is exactly 55% of the previous year's total tax amount. Bills will be in the mail by March 2nd with the due date of April 1, 2026.

Property Tax Exemptions will be reflected on your second installment tax bill. If you received the Homeowner's Exemption and/or Senior Exemption, those will be renewed automatically. The Senior Freeze Exemption needs to be applied for annually as it is income based. All Exemption applications will be available in the coming weeks.

HOLIDAY HOURS

In observance of Casimir Pulaski Day, the 38th Ward Public Service Office will be closed on Monday, March 2nd. The office will reopen on Tuesday, March 3rd at 9:00am. Please note that there will be no refuse collection on Monday, March 2nd. Residents should ensure all black carts are accessible throughout the week, not solely on their regular day of collection. However, recycling will be collected as scheduled Monday through Friday without service interruptions.

Sincerely,

RESCUE ME

Meet Rex! Four-year-old Rex came into the shelter as a chipped stray. From the moment he walked through the doors, he's been searching, not for treats or toys but his owner. And for comfort and something familiar in a world that isn't.

Rex is a lab/coonhound mix, sweet and gentle. The kind of dog who leans into you like he's trying to hold himself together ❤️ He sure would love a home again!! To see Rex in action, click HERE and HERE.

For more information on Rex and the many other dogs waiting patiently to be rescued, click HERE or visit their Facebook page: CACC Adoptable Pets. To learn more about fostering, click HERE.
