Email from 19th Ward Office

Dear Chicago,

As of 10:00am this morning, the 19th Ward storm damage update includes 185 reported tree emergencies; 43 of those have been addressed. In addition, 27 traffic signal intersections were malfunctioning; 12 have been addressed. I ask that you contact 311 to report any tree emergency (fallen tree/branch blocking street, sidewalk or alley.) I appreciate your patience and cooperation while clean up occurs after this powerful storm. I will continue to work with the Department of Streets & Sanitation (Bureau of Forestry) to address blocked streets and sidewalks.

In addition, more than 8,362 homes and businesses throughout Beverly, Morgan Park and Mount Greenwood were without power; as of now, 2,713 locations have been restored. ComEd has provided additional resources to assist in restoring power to our communities. If your service has been disrupted, please report the outage to ComEd immediately, using one of the following options...

  • Online
  • Via the ComEd Mobile App
  • Via text message by texting "ADD OUTAGE" to 26633
  • Via phone, by calling 1-800-334-7661

The National Weather Service is reporting that multiple storms will begin to arrive in the Chicagoland area early this afternoon. I will continue to update residents as I receive more information. Please email me at mattoshea@the19thward.com if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Matthew J. O'Shea

Alderman, 19th Ward
